Winners of the competition will receive $50,000 in prize money, coaching from international business professionals and an opportunity to compete at the Intel Global Challenge finals in Silicon Valley, USA. The deadline for submission is May 28, 2012.

The jury will select the most innovative ideas for using technology, and with greatest business potential, from all submitted projects. The projects should be aimed at technologies within the areas of: biotechnology, nanotechnology, software, mobile applications, electronics, robotics, energy, and power generation. Participants must be students, PhD students, or graduates, aged between 18 and 34.

The competition consists of three rounds:

• In round one, which closes on 28th of May, participants register at the HiTechPlant platform, where they submit project abstracts, a short, concise presentation of the business concept.

• One hundred best ideas make it to round two. The authors of the best ideas are then requested to prepare a business plan and an elevator pitch video. The international jury will then select 20 finalists.

• Round three is the Intel® Business Challenge Europe Finals, to be held in one of European cities in the fall of 2012.

Winners of the Intel® Business Challenge Europe will go to the Intel® Global Challenge Finals, which will be held in November 2012 at the University of California, Berkeley. The finalists of the Intel® Global Challenge will compete for $100,000 in prize money and will have the opportunity to “sell” their ideas to Silicon Valley investors.

Last year’s European finals, held in Sopot, Poland, were collocated with the European Forum for New Ideas (EFNI), organized by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan.

Intel is the project organizer and prize sponsor, with INVESTIN High Tech Foundation being the organizing partner, with Junior Achievement-Young Enterprise as a strategic partner.
