On 23rd of November, we organized the final VentureConnect meeting for this autumn. Eleven projects from Romania, but also from Croatia and Great Britain, attended VentureConnect to pitch their businesses in front of the VentureConnect board and the investors present in the room.
After two local sessions in Cluj and Timisoara, VentureConnect culminated with the final meeting in Bucharest. To the winning local projects, other 7 entrepreneurs from Romania and Europe joined in to present their business plans in a top-notch pitching session.
Doug Richard, School for Startups founder, together with Nelson Gray: business angel and mentor were special guests for the final VentureConnect session.
“This VentureConnect session was one of the most successful so far. The projects presented were far more mature, the way in which entrepreneurs delivered their pitches even more convincing, and I believe that there are real chances that two companies present for this session to access secure investments in the following six months.” mentioned Radu Georgescu, President GECAD Group.
“The meeting in Bucharest is by far the most successful one yet due to many reasons. First and foremost, it is the second consecutive meeting we receive international projects inside the competition, which demonstrates that we have managed to convince both the entrepreneurial side, as well as the investors corner that the initiative is by far valuable. Secondly, we have noticed a significant rise not just of the projects that were pitched, but also of the way in which they were delivered. This shows us that the two training sessions conducted by Lucian Mindruta and Dragos Roua, paid off immensely” mentions Ana Maria Andronic, Senior Associate Biris Goran.
The next VentureConnect meeting will be conducted in May – June 2012, the set date being announced in the following month.
